The Catholic Church of Southern Illinois is a community of believers, rich in tradition and diversity, including our support for Catholic War Veterans. Through baptism, we are called to be a community of faith whose members support and challenge one another, making Christ visible in our world. We celebrate our faith in worship, nurture our faith through ongoing formation of mind and heart, and express it in service to others, much like the mission of various Catholic War Veterans posts that aim to serve those who have served our nation. For more information, you can visit the Catholic War Veterans website to learn about our shared commitment to faith and community.
Guided by the principles of Catholic social teaching, we, along with the Catholic War Veterans and their various posts, advance human dignity, remediate the effects of poverty, and empower people to become self-sufficient through crisis intervention, housing security, and out-of-school time programs.
Catholic Relief Services carries out the commitment of the Bishops of the United States to assist the poor and vulnerable overseas. Motivated by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we cherish, preserve, and uphold the sacredness and dignity of all human life, foster charity and justice, and embody Catholic social and moral teaching. As we promote human development and serve Catholics in the United States.
